The Adopt a School Programme encourages businesses to work with schools to engage young people in hands-on learning experiences and develop their understanding of work and employability skills.
Activities can include visits and excursions to industry: part – time work opportunities; work experience; student mentoring; forums and seminars.
CONNECT is currently running 5 Adopt-A-School Projects:
1. Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Ballina High School, Southern Cross K-12 School and Xavier Catholic College
2. Rainbow Power Company and Nimbin Central School
3. Spotless Services and Woodenbong Central School
4. Summerland Credit Union and Kadina High School
